Video: Inclusive workplaces
12th May, 2021
We wish to create a diverse and inclusive workplace because we recognise why that is so important.
We may even have a strategy in place; plans, policies, training. But how can we tackle the underlying problems of unconscious bias at all levels in an organisation when it comes to the successful delivery of our plans?
In the next in our series of discussions on tackling inequality in the workplace, Caroline Shafar, Partner in our employment team talked to Jiten Patel Director of Diversync and Paul Deemer, Head of Diversity and Inclusion from NHS Employers to ask the question: “Inclusive workplaces – how can we create them from the ground up and top down?”.
Jiten Patel is a well-regarded thought leader in Diversity and inclusion circles. His book, Demystifying Diversity, was described by People Management magazine as an important contribution to the topic. His LinkedIn posts are regularly in the top 1% of engagements and he has worked with a vast portfolio of clients.
Paul Deemer works for NHS Employers – an employers association for the health and social care sector – and supports and advises organisations on complying with the range of equalities and human rights legislation. Paul was named in the 2020 People Management Diversity Power List and writes regularly on diversity matters on a variety of social media platforms.
